Everything players ask us about stringing, strings, tension, customization, pricing, and booking, all in one place. Search or browse by topic below.
A simple rule is to restring as many times per year as you play per week. If you play twice a week, restring about twice a year. If you play a lot or hit hard, you may need it more often to keep the racquet feeling its best.
If your strings feel dead, slip out of place, or have lost their snap, it is time for a fresh set. You may also notice less control, or that the ball does not come off the racquet the way it used to.
Yes. Strings slowly lose tension just sitting in the racquet, even if you do not play. That is why many players restring a few times a year no matter how often they hit.
We string tennis racquets for players of every level, from first-timers to competitive athletes. Bring in what you play with and we will take care of it.
It depends on how you play. Polyester gives control and spin for hard hitters, multifilament is soft and easy on the arm, synthetic gut is a great all-rounder, and natural gut offers the best feel. We will help you pick the right one for your game.
Polyester is stiff and durable, and great for control and spin. Multifilament is soft and comfortable, and easy on the arm. Natural gut is the premium choice with the best feel and the best tension hold. Each one fits a different kind of player.
Lower tension gives more power, and higher tension gives more control. A middle tension is a great starting point for most players, and we will help you dial in the right number for your game.
It is actually the opposite. Looser strings act more like a trampoline and give more power. Tighter strings give you more control and a crisper feel.
A hybrid uses two different strings in one racquet, one set for the mains and another for the crosses. This lets you blend qualities, like the control of polyester with the comfort of a softer string.
Yes. A softer string like multifilament, or a lower tension, can be gentler on your arm. If you deal with elbow or shoulder pain, tell us and we will set you up with a comfortable string.
Yes. We adjust weight, balance, and swing weight so your racquet works with your swing instead of against it.
Yes. If you play with more than one racquet, we can match them to the same spec so each one feels identical in your hand.
We can measure and help you find the right size. A good grip lets you hold the racquet comfortably without squeezing, which helps your control and protects your arm.
Yes. We install fresh grips and overgrips, and we can build up the handle if you want a larger feel.
Pricing depends on the string you choose plus labor, and we always quote the full price before we start. Ask us and we will give you an exact number with no surprises.
Most jobs have a quick turnaround, often the next day. If you need it sooner, our express service puts your racquet at the front of the line.
